Another group of 12 young welders joined us for a fun afternoon of welding on Monday after school! Iowa Central instructor Brad Brown, Greene County Career Academy welding student Colton Mobley, and ISU Extension County Youth and 4-H Coordinator Samantha Hardaway took the students in groups of four into the welding area to talk about safety and to give them instructions on how to weld.
These students in grades 4-8 were given a piece of steel, and they got to weld their initial or create their own masterpiece.
Next month is construction month for our career exploration camps. Students in grades 1-3 can sign up for construction camp on Monday, November 7th, and students in grades 4-8 can sign up for Monday, November 14th. Classes are from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You can call ISU Extension at (515) 386-2138 to register.
