The Greene County SMITE and Rainbow Six Siege teams have punched their tickets to compete in the Esports state tournament this year. The defending state champion SMITE team enters the tournament as the number one seed among eight qualifying teams boasting an undefeated record of 7-0. The Rainbow Six Siege team will compete in the tournament as the number eight seed, with a commendable record of 6-2. Both teams owe their success not only to the skill and dedication of the players but also to the guidance of their coach Conner Mueller and Designated Esports Coordinator Kyle Kinne.
SMITE team members include: Layne Carstens, Braydon Kokenge, Charlie Cooklin, Mason Lehman, Nathan Mohr, Myren Keller, and Kaydin Wells.
The Rainbow Six team is composed of members Rylan Larsen, Carter Fecher, Jacob Rumley, Hayden Markins, Chase Murphy, Jordan Cerwick, and Oliver Harris.
This year’s state tournament will be held in Marshalltown, IA at the IVCCD Orpheum Theater Center. SMITE teams from all around the state will compete on November 15 and Rainbow Six Siege teams will compete on November 16.
