We just completed two classes of the business career exploration camps with business instructor Teresa Blackburn-Bentz leading the activities. Students started by creating a name tag and then doing introductions. Next, they did a lego challenge for ten minutes and then shared what they made with the class by showing what they built.
Mrs. Bentz then talked about entrepreneurship and having your own store. Their "money" was ten pieces of candy that they could use to buy things from their classmates' stores. They balanced their checkbook as they went shopping to keep track of their money and their purchases. Students learned that if your store is not selling your items, you may have to reduce the prices to attract your customers.
The time went so fast, and the students learned a lot about business.
