On Monday, January 23, eleven 4th-8th graders participated in the Agriculture Career Exploration camp with Iowa State Extension Greene County in the Greene County Career Academy. These youth learned about the four stomachs of the cow, tried and identified different kinds of milk, and got to put their skills to the test by working to find the code in the Agricultural Innovations escape room from Bayer. This is a great thinking-outside-the-box challenge for youth while learning about many of the advances in modern day agriculture and how they might be used. At the end of the day, the youth were able to take home an Agriculture rubrics cube. We all had a blast with these classes and are excited to continue them!
Next month is Health Sciences Month with our career exploration camps. Grades 1-3 will meet on February 6th and grades 4-8 will meet on February 27th. To sign up, please register at ISU Extension at 515.386.2138.
