This past Tuesday, 24 4th grade students in Greene County Elementary were given brand new bikes. The bikes were purchased by Jefferson Telecom and given to any 4th grade student who didnât have one. After the bikes were passed out, a story was shared by Jamie Daubendiek expressing the importance of wearing a helmet. In 2010, Jamieâs sister, Jenny, was struck by a car moving at a high speed and her helmet saved her life. The bike remains were salvaged and have been added to a display to create a powerful visual.
We very much appreciate the generosity of Jefferson Telecom. Thank you for this wonderful gift to our students!

Good evening,
Greene County Elementary, including our 3-year-old PreSchool classroom, will be closed on Friday, April 5th, 2024 due to widespread illness among staff members. As of the sending of this message, nearly 50% of the staff is absent due to illness or another planned event. Since our main priority, before learning, is safety, we need to ensure an appropriate number of staff are available to serve and support our students.
Both the Middle School and High School will have classes as regularly scheduled for the day.
For our elementary students; please stay home, stay safe, and have a great weekend.
Thank you,
