Hello Parents! I am so excited to be in Greene County and I am looking forward to working with each of you this year to provide the best experience possible for you and your student! Fall sports practices will be starting soon. Cross Country, Volleyball, and Football practice for students in grades 9-12 will begin Monday, August 7. Volleyball will start at 8:00 AM for the HS 1 group and 10:00 AM for the HS 2 group. Please contact Head Coach Chris Heisterkamp (heisters@netins.net) with any questions. Football will start at 4:15 pm. Contact Head Coach Caden Duncan (duncanc@greenecountycsd.net) with questions. Cross Country will start 7:00 am. Contact Head Coach Jeff Lamoureux (lamoureux6@netins.net) with questions. The co-op with Carroll HS Girls Swimming will start practice on August 7th at 4:15 at the Carroll Rec Center. Contact Head Coach Deb Danner 712-790-9493 with questions. This is a new sharing agreement for this year open to high school students only. Boys swimming will start in November. Middle School practices will begin on August 23rd after school. Due to overcrowding and driver shortages we have had to make some changes to our routes. We will no longer stop at Elm & Grauer and Lincolnway & Cedar. We will NOT be able to provide transportation for personal activities such as dance, rec programs, GCP, the Webb house, after-school church classes, or any other activities that are not school related. AREA BUSINESSES: Friday, Aug. 18th, Greene County Schools will welcome back our teachers and staff, starting at 7:30am in the High School. We are requesting community businesses be part of this event. Let's welcome back our teachers and support staff in style!! (Please note this is a staff event only.) Tables will be available for local businesses to set up information about their business, provide free information/handouts to teachers and staff, and show their support for the great work that our schools do! The Middle School softball and baseball games vs Perry today have been canceled. The JV/V softball games with Glidden-Ralston are still on. Varsity will play first at 5:30, followed by the JV.

Greene County Community School District will be holding the 8th Grade Promise to Graduate Ceremony this afternoon at 2:00. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in the Greene County High School auditorium. Parents are requested to park on the south side of the school and enter through the south entrance. At the conclusion of the event, parents are welcome to bring their students home, otherwise, students will be bused back to the middle school for their regular dismissal. Greene County High School graduating seniors walked through the elementary and middle school this morning for the annual "Senior Walk". Local business owner, Chad Elliott, attended the 7th grade Basic Music Composition classroom on Friday, May12th. Chad is an artist, singer, songwriter. He shared his personal journey in music with the students. He also shared some of his original works and spoke about the inspiration behind these pieces. Students were able to share some of their own music compositions created from this 9 week class with Chad. Chad also took time to write a song with the students. The topic was one every growing adolescent can relate to...food. We thank Chad for taking time from his busy schedule to visit and inspire young minds in the world of music.

​Families of 8th Grade Students: Our 8th grade students have pledged their commitment to education and intend to graduate from Greene County High School! Join us May 25th at 2pm in the High School Auditorium to celebrate these students!

​Please join us Monday, May 15, 2023, in the Greene County Middle School Auditorium at 7:00 pm. 5th grade choir students will perform the mini musical "Dig It." We'll travel back in time to the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece with Taki, Tut and Lucy and many more. It will be a fun singing, dancing, and learning experience for all!

6th, 7th, 8th grade students: All Choir students need to report to the GCMS Band Room by 6:15 p.m. Show begins at 6:30 p.m. Thank you!
